Aye dios mio! Malena is amazing!! She worked her magic on me today. She did a great cut and blowout. I’m just blown away by how well it turned out. I’m half white half Puerto Rican with curly thick hair and I have struggled to find a salon that has been able to cut and style my hair just right and I think LaChama1 was God sent. Will be returning!

She robbed me $440 and RUINED MY HAIR. $440?!?! I debated whether to leave this review, but I don’t want someone else to have the same experience I did. I have very curly Puerto Rican hair and had never had it professionally colored before, so I specifically sought out someone who claimed to know how to work with my hair type. I came in for blonde highlights and showed an inspiration photo. I was told that because my hair had been previously relaxed, it could not be bleached. I understood and agreed to lighten it in a safer way instead. However, instead of highlights, my entire head was dyed. During the appointment, I even asked Her if my hair was still brown because I only wanted highlights. When I left the salon, the top of my hair was bright yellow and the rest of it was orange, which was very far from what I had asked for. What made the situation even worse was the complete lack of pricing transparency. At checkout, I was suddenly charged $440, even though the cost of the service had never been discussed with me beforehand. Being presented with such a large bill without any prior conversation about pricing left me feeling extremely uncomfortable and honestly taken advantage of. Compared to high-end quality salons in the area -they don’t even charge that. I’m unsure as to how she felt her work was worth $440. Again, I Was most certainly taken advantage of- And didn’t even receive a partial refund for the damage and results of her work on my hair. The appointment was also extremely long. What I expected to take around two hours kept me in the salon from 12:00 PM until 5:30 PM. I contacted her and returned to have my hair corrected. I explained that I was unhappy with how yellow and orange it looked, and she agreed to try to fix it. During the correction appointment, hair dye was left all over my hairline and face. I was also told that if I wanted my hair dried afterward, I would need to pay an additional $75 for a blowout—after already paying $440 the day before for a result I was unhappy with. Because of that, I left the salon with wet hair, unsure of what the final result even looked like. Unfortunately, my hair still looks worse and I now have to pay another salon to correct it. At no point was a partial refund or any real solution offered. Overall, I’m extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism, the unexpected pricing, and the final result. For $440, I expected transparency, professionalism, and quality work. Unfortunately, that was not my experience, and I would not recommend going here based on what I went through.

Edit: 06/07/2025 I paid $55 for a bang cut that didn’t match what I asked for, even after showing a reference photo. Malena showed up late and didn’t acknowledge my scheduled time. This wasn’t the first time, but I always gave her multiple opportunities since she has cut my bangs b4. I don’t like confrontation, so I didn’t say anything in person, but I left disappointed and won’t be returning. I just paid and left sad af!!!! ;((((((

10/10 experience! I was nervous about getting my first relaxer (I have very curly hair) but Malena did an AMAZING job. She walked me through the steps of the relaxer, how to take care of my hair after the relaxer, and was overall very nice and supportive through the entire process! My hair has never been more healthy, smooth, or shiny! I will definitely return for all my hair needs!!

$45 haircut turned into $105?!? My sister came into the salon and booked for a haircut ($45). She asked for 2in cut off, no layers or nothing - a simple trim. Went to the counter and she was charged $105!!! As a hairstylist myself, I called to the front desk to ask them why she was uncharged. They said it was because she got it styled. (Flat ironed hair that was already straight) At no point during my sister’s service was she given quotes, or was told there would be any additional fees. The front desk just told me that my sister should’ve STOPPED the stylist in the middle of what they’re doing. As if she knew that there would be additional fees for styling??? (She did not ask for a blowout) Normally salons charge $5 extra to use a flat/curling iron, so I’m not sure where the extra $60 in services came from?!? Their Booksy states a haircut is $45, I assume that includes a haircut and not to walk out of the salon with soaking wet hair. But she was up-charged for services she didn’t get and was not aware of. Do these photos look like this haircut should have been $105?!? Absolutely not. As a salon professional, we are to be transparent with the guest if they get any services outside of what they had originally booked. We know what the prices are, not the guest so it’s our duty to keep guests informed throughout their service. This is price gouging at its finest. Especially for people like my sister who are non-confrontational, and don’t want to cause a scene at the front desk.
